Why being lost in your career might actually be a good thing
The truth about finding your dream job

Today’s spotlight:
If there’s one thing I’ve learned about careers, it’s this.
The journey will be messy. And that’s okay.
2019 I did a digital marketing placement, not because I wanted to, but because I had to. Truthfully, I hated it. But that experience taught me what I didn’t like.
After that, I decided to follow my passion for non-profit work. I felt like I’d finally found my path. However, when the pandemic hit, funding dried up, and my role would no longer be there.
So, I pivoted again, this time into the investment banking world, working in corporate social responsibility and internal communications.
There were highs, but I realised the environment wasn’t good for my wellbeing, and I had to make the difficult decision to quit.
Fast forward to today, I work full-time as an entrepreneur, guiding young professionals to navigate the corporate world and stand out on LinkedIn. (You can book a 1-1 with me here).
I’m doing work I’m passionate about, but let me tell you, it’s still a journey. I’m still figuring it all out.
The point is that your career isn’t supposed to be perfect or linear.
It’s a process of discovery, a series of steps that bring you closer to where you’re meant to be.
Don’t rush the process.
We’re all figuring it out, one step at a time.
Have a good week, friends x
