Today’s spotlight
You’re not doing anything wrong.
But the reason you’re not being noticed?
You haven’t figured out how your manager communicates.
You could deliver great work, meet deadlines, and even go above and beyond…
But if you deliver it in a way they don’t connect with.
It’s not being seen.
And you’re not being remembered.
Corporate isn’t just about performance.
It’s about perception.
And the foundation of perception? Communication.
If you want to build trust and actually be seen, start here:
Learn your manager’s communication style.
Not just what they want, but how they want to receive it.
For example:
Watch how they respond. Do they give detailed feedback or quick replies? Match their energy.
Ask directly. “What’s the best way to keep you updated?” It shows initiative and saves time.
Mirror their style. Bullet point person? Ditch the paragraphs. Prefer talking? Book the call.
Don’t mistake silence for satisfaction. Just because they’re not chasing you doesn’t mean they’re happy.
Honestly, I used to think doing the work was enough.
It’s not.
The people who grow the fastest?
They know how to adapt their communication, without changing who they are.
This week, I want you to:
Rethink how you’ve been updating your manager.
Switch your approach if it’s not landing.
Make your communication clearer, faster, and more aligned with them.
Because your talent isn’t the problem.
Your delivery might be.
Let’s fix that.
